Abstract
A nonautonomous dynamic model of a network oscillator is provided for the Tritonia swim central pattern generator. The maintenance and termination of the swim burst pattern can be explained as the time development from a limit cycle to an equilibrium point of this dynamical system within a certain parameter regime. The generating mechanism of this rhythmic behavior is reinterpreted with the aid of a temporal energy landscape metaphor
