Abstract :
An optimization procedure for the synthesis of planar inverted F antennas with a slit (PIFAs) is presented. The procedure uses a TLM code for the circuit analysis. The characteristics of PIFAs with a slit introduced for the reduction in their size are synthesized. In particular, we discuss the effect of length and position of the slit on their resonant frequency and radiation directivity
