Performance of Integrated Fully-Native Ethernet Optical Ring for Customer-Owned Networks

We have proposed a fully-native Ethernet (FNE) optical ring, integrating one-by-one (O-O) and point-to-point (P2P) links for customer-owned networks. A case study to design the proposed FNE ring clarified that required number of optical transceivers in the FNE ring is less than that in P2P links, providing a cost-effective solution. The experimental network of the FNE optical ring was constructed and the performance was evaluated.
