Abstract
A frequency synthesizer for a microwave microscope is a programmed source of high-stability oscillations, designed to be used as a master oscillator in precision near-field measurements within the 1 - 20 GHz range of frequencies. The operating principles and specifications of the synthesizer are detailed.
