  • Abstract
Oil and gas production away from the shores implies extra risk that requires special safety attention. In this work, a brief illustration of the nature of oil and gas production installations and activities are presented. The risks involved in the operations. Finally the points of integration between HSE management and practice are demonstrated. A large number of human factors involved in the operations and need for communication are considered. Priotising among tasks and being conscious of multiple operations some of which are carried out simultanuously. The permanent presence of gas and hot points as well as the need for good safety coordination. HSE management includes contingency plan containing, (1) general contingency plan, (2) medevac procedure, (3) rescue plan, (4) emergency oil spill contingency plan, (5) offshore oil spill response
