Abstract :
The newly developed ECC (error control coding) LSI for consumer-use digital VCR systems has two main functions. One is the encoding and decoding of error control codes, and the other is the packing and unpacking of audio/video/subcode/ID data. We propose a new ECC LSI that has clear functions and simple interfaces to other LSI sets and reduces its size by using a single RS(28) decoder
