Abstract
In this paper we propose and analyse the incorporation of graphene to Silicon integrated waveguides and circuits for application to the field of microwave photonics (MWP). Numerical techniques are employed to evaluate the impact of graphene on the effective index and absorption of the propagating modes in several silicon waveguide designs using these results to design several instrumental building blocks for the implementation of key MWP functionalities.
