Abstract
Mobile radio communication channels tend to suffer from multipath fading which causes error rate to vary with time. To work with such channel conditions, a hybrid resource allocation scheme that combines power control and fair queuing procedure is proposed for handling Web services in a WCDMA system. In the proposed scheme, resource allocation fairness may be traded off with channel utilisation using a power control procedure. Computer simulations have shown that the proposed scheduling scheme achieves a higher system throughput compared to CSDPS-CBQ and some of its variants, even though the channel estimation process is imperfect
