Abstract :
High power amplifiers frequently exhibit parametric oscillations, when driven near compression. This paper describes a new analysis and design methodology for predicting and eliminating even and odd parametric oscillation modes in power amplifiers. Large pumped signal, synchronized with a small signal, for stability analysis based on small signal oscillation conditions is proposed. The method has been applied to a Ku band MMIC power amplifier to predict a parametric even mode frequency divider/oscillator and to stabilize it using RC elements at each transistor gate
