Abstract
Mark Borkowski became the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Technology Innovation and Acquisition (OTIA) with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in July 2010. He is responsible for ensuring technology efforts are properly focused on mission and well integrated across CBP and for strengthening effectiveness in acquisition and program management. In addition to being the Assistant Commissioner for OTIA, Mr. Borkowski serves as CBP´s Component Acquisition Executive (CAE) responsible for ensuring acquisitions support a mission requirement, are cost effective and are integrated across all of CBP where appropriate.
