Signaling protocol architecture for digital mobile system

The authors consider a signaling protocol architecture for future digital mobile user-network interfaces which can support a wide range of services similar to the ones defined in ISDN (integrated services digital network). This architecture is based on the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model. The interfaces proposed support ISDN functions and public land mobile network (PLMN) functions, and have the capability of guaranteeing their independence.
