Abstract
There is an important lack of international standards related to definition of hotline tools lifetime and so, to identify the key aspects for maintenance and replacement policies of hotline tools against potential losses related to its failure became mandatory. The proposal is to implement of a multifaceted approach to this problem considering: risk failure analysis x time, average cost per accident generated in the basic network, periodic tests x effectiveness and hotline tools replacement. The aim is evaluate each of these perspectives independently and grouped.
