Abstract :
The new generation of ASICs include larger analogue parts. Therefore, it becomes imperative that novel design methodologies be developed to address the design of mixed analogue-digital systems. This paper describes a behavioral modeling approach using the hardware description language VHDL-AMS to simulate analogue and mixed circuits. The approach is applied in the top-down phase of a hierarchical methodology and it is illustrated by the development of a VHDL-AMS model library for RF applications.
