Abstract :
Based on compact towers already built in China and other countries, structural projects of 750 kV compact towers are confirmed. As for 750 kV double circuit and single circuit compact towers, structural calculation and economical analysis are carried out on two aspects, steel tubes and high strength angles. Suitable structural projects are recommended correspondingly. Test and research on padding plates of Q420 cross-section combined angle steels are achieved, which might be useful for engineering design.
