Abstract :
Generations of wireless systems are all the time a big topic for the research as well as deployment of wireless community. Cellular service providers are already in the last phase of the deployment of third-generation (3G) services in major parts of the world realistically with an achievement of higher data rates, even though the expected standards are not fully met. To achieve the goals of true broadband service, the systems have to make the leap to fourth-generation (4G) wireless networks. This new generation of wireless systems is supposed to complement and replace 3G systems with a minimum data rate of 20 Mbps at one-tenth the cost of 3G. Wireless community including Researchers, Software vendors, device manufactures already expressed their interest in 4G that support global roaming across multiple mobile networks with personalized services like time sensitive real time multimedia services - with stable system performance and Quality of Service (QoS).
