Abstract :
A 200 A rectifier has been specifically designed to power telephone switching equipment. It is a constant-voltage, current-limited PWM SMPS (switched-mode power supply) with instrumentation and other features suitable for this type of application. A controlled rectifier utilizing MOSFET switches converts the 3-phase-input AC power to a regulated 400 V DC supply. The switching scheme ensures that the input current waveforms are sinusoidal. A forward converter then transforms the 400 volt supply to the regulated 48 volt nominal output required for this application.<>
