Abstract :
Considering some reasonable and simplified hypothesis, this paper presents a short-circuit current model based on the circuit theory. Power receiving capability on the limitation of short-circuit current is analyzed according to this model. The example of Jinan power grid in China is computed to verify the applicability of this short-circuit current model. Simulation results indicate that electromagnetic loop opening, bus subsection in substation and high-impedance transformer usage, as feasible and effective means, can not only control short-circuit current level but also augment power receiving capability.
