Abstract :
A 5-tap 35 Mb/s mixed-signal adaptive decision feedback equalizer (DFE) has been implemented in a 2-μm CMOS technology. The analog circuits are fully differential. Coefficient adaptation is digital, and two adaptation rates are available. The DFE adapts and equalizes at a clock rate of 35 MHz. It occupies 24 mm2 and dissipates 165 mW
