Abstract :
Based on a square patch resonator, a compact dual-mode band-pass filter is studied in this paper. The size reduction of the developed filter is simply achieved by etching a dual-cross slot on the patch. Studies indicate that with this arrangement, the size can be reduced to 26.7% as compared to the conventional patch resonator. Meanwhile, a pair of transmission zeros close to the pass band improves its selectivity. Both measurements and simulations are presented and compared in the paper.
