Abstract :
Presents a framework for describing a modeling method and describes the basic ideas of a modeling strategy based on that framework. ReMM is a modeling method for embedded systems. ReMM is described by using the framework outlined. The goal of the method is to produce easy to communicate models. ReMM has its origins in the well-known real-time structured analysis methods. As novel features, the Statecharts language is used instead of conventional state transition diagrams, and the decomposition of the model is based on a novel strategy. ReMM models include features that are desirable for enhancing communication. The terms used in the models are from the application domain and the behavior of systems is easy to follow from models. Models are concise and submodels for different viewpoints are easy to generate
