Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to design a nonlinear excitation controller based on an observer for a single machine connected to an infinite bus. The reduced mathematical model of the synchronous generator belongs to a class of nonlinear systems in a triangular form. The performance of this controller is shown assuming the only measurements available are those from the rotor angle
