Abstract :
Design of analog and mixed-signal circuits are often regarded as representing significant bottlenecks in system-on-chip (SOC) design. There are many challenges for mixed signal design to be adaptable for SOC implementation. The major considerations in designing these mixed signal circuits for the complete SOC are high speed, low power, and low voltage. This paper presents the design of an 8-bit flash analog to digital (A/D) converter with threshold invert quantization (TIQ) comparators. Speed of this ADC is 787.78 Mbps and the power consumed is 800 mW. All individual blocks in this paper are designed and simulated by using T-SPICE with 0.18 mum CMOS technology.
