Abstract :
A test of BLKLAB on the Grumman F-14 benchmark control problem is presented. BLKLAB is a suite of programs enabling block diagrams of linear control systems to be created graphically on a PC and automatically encoded for analysis by MATLAB. The F14 benchmark problem was correctly solved using the BLKLAB package. BLKDRAW was used to draw the block diagram on a PC and to create automatically a file that MATLAB converted into the state space model of the system. Desired properties were then computed using conventional MATLAB techniques. BLKTEX translated the stored model file into LaTeX input, producing a typeset-quality block diagram. BLKLAB thus links MATLAB and LaTeX to form an integrated environment for drawing, analyzing, and documenting linear systems described in block diagram form
