The traditional automatic voltage controller for arc welding is limited for robust and optimal welding. The design of a fuzzy logic controller has been made by traditional methods, with good results. Then an adaptive fuzzy controller was developed to replace the controller when parameters of the plant are varying. The robustness and design of this adaptive fuzzy controller is described
