Abstract
A planar topology of UWB wide-scan array is presented, based on the class of the aperture coupled stacked patches. Performance is aimed at achieving both wide-band and wide-scan capabilities for multifunction C-X band radar applications that require modular subarray antenna architecture. The theoretical and technological aspects that affect correct design and effective realization of the array structure are addressed. An 8×8 tile has manufactured and a multi-element waveguide simulator has been built to validate the experimental results. The relevant results show very interesting features as concerns band and scanning characteristics.
