Abstract
The characteristics of ultra-broadband Cr-doped fibers employing drawing-tower-method are reported. The Cr-doped fiber shows a longer fluorescence lifetime and 1.2-1.55 mum broadband emission. This Cr-doped fiber may be used as a new broadband fiber amplifier.
