Abstract
The paper describes the design of a component based application framework for systems utilising the streaming data passing semantic. Many advanced applications employ data streams to model continuous or semi-continuous flows of information. We describe an application framework, called iFlow, that can significantly ease the effort in developing such applications. This framework supports the dynamic construction of channels between the source and recipient of information that matches the requirements of the different systems involved in the information exchange. We conclude with a description of applying iFlow to a particular stream oriented application for the dissemination of imagery information
