Abstract
An integrated robot design and simulation system called IRODESS is presented. The system provides the user with a specially developed descriptive language that allows the design of robots and workcells of the user´s choice. As an integrated simulation environment, IRODESS allows the user to implement and test controls of his/her choice in a simple manner. The system provides the user with animation which can display the 3D movement of single or multiple robots in a workcell and trace their trajectories. The IRODESS database specification and control module are described
