Abstract :
Optical performance monitoring technologies are widely regarded as one of the key requirements for the realization of fully reconfigurable dynamic optical networks. Already a number of techniques have been developed to address the issue and in this paper, we review some of the potential candidates for simultaneous monitoring of multiple impairments in optical communication links.
