Abstract :
Achieving efficient operation from 790 nm-pumped Tm-doped fibres at wavelengths <1.95 mum requires careful attention to fibre and device design. We present a high-efficiency MOPA producing 70 W at 1908 nm with 53% slope efficiency from the PA stage.
