Abstract :
We present a shape retrieval model using pyramid matching with orientation features. The orientation features have two kinds: one is for the edge of a shape, the other is for the angle of a shape. By capturing both edge and angle characteristics of a shape, combination of the two kinds of orientation features provides an efficient representation of a shape. Pyramid matching integrates the comparison between two shapes at different resolutions. So combination of the two kinds of orientation features and pyramid matching enhance the model´s retrieval performance. Our model is tested on two well-known databases: Kimia´s 99 database and MPEG7 CE shape-1 part B database, and achieves the effective performance compared with other methods.
