Abstract
A H-infinity controller and a PID controller for an active magnetic bearing (AMB) system were designed, then they were mixed by a position error function. Starting responses of the perturbation were investigated by simulation model. Selection of the threshold influences the dynamic performance. The relationship between control current and displacement of the rotor was presented. The results show that the developed mixed-controller is able to ensure the system with good dynamic characteristics, strong robustness, and satisfying disturbance suppression effect
