Abstract
A very high speed CIC decimation filter core is proposed in this paper. Based on partial-polyphase decomposition techniques, the core can operate at much lower sampling rate while achieving the same performances as Hogenauer´s CIC filter. It can receive data sampled at frequency 2, 4, or 8 times higher than that of the most commercially available cores without multiplying by 2, 4, or 8 the resources needed for an FPGA implementation. It is completely parameterizable and flexible at design time. The core has advantages in high speed operation like direct RF sampling
