Abstract

Summary form only given. It is pointed out that, to survive in the competitive manufacturing industry, manufacturers have to select machines with good performance and low cost. For different manufacturing environments, various constraints have to be taken into account. It may be difficult to reach a perfect solution to fulfill all constraints. With an injection molding machine used as a case study, a schema model of a PDP network was used to assist in decision making for machine selection based on machine performance and cost criteria
