A method of real-time channel evaluation in adaptive HF systems

A simple and cost effective channel evaluation method, suitable for application to an adaptive HF system, is proposed. The method is based on a modification of a well known Gooding´s pseudo error monitoring scheme. A theoretical and experimental research was carried on to find the trade-off between the confidence level of channel quality estimation and length of measurement interval.
