Abstract :
Examines the current status of OIS schemes for application in the management of frequencies in an HF system or complex of systems. Certain efforts are now underway to assess this approach to HF resource management in general and an understanding as to the direction of these programs is outlined. The authors indicate the NRL efforts in this context. Finally they provide a view as to the future of OIS in HF communications and surveillance areas.<>
