  • Abstract
    This paper proposes the use of multicarrier modulation (MCM) based on IFFT/FFT (Fourier transform) transmitter and receiver pair as a method of implementation for advanced messaging systems. This includes one-way paging, and two-way messaging systems. The proposed MCM system provides immunity against multipath fading distortion. It also provides immunity against intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by long delays spreads that usually occur in simulcast systems. In addition, the MCM system achieves a high quality transmission with good spectral efficiency, better than current messaging systems
