Abstract :
The authors report preliminary results of thermally stimulated discharge current (TSDC) and thermal transient current (TTC) measurements of aged and virgin samples of commercially available XLPE high voltage cables. They attempt to correlate these results as a step towards establishing the latter technique as a possible non-destructive method to probe the nature of persistent polarisation and electric ageing of such cables
