Abstract
The ageing compensation effect (ACE), namely the a=α+β.b linear correlation between the a_ (ordinate intercept) and b_ (slope) regression coefficients of related life-lines (regression-lines) concerning the same material, was introduced recently (David, 1987). α and β are the parameters of this linear ACE-relation. The ACE-equation establishes a surprising relation between different, but related life-lines concerning the same material or insulation, even if they were measured on different properties or using different end-point values. The theory of ACE has recently been further developed by Montanari (1988). The present theory of the ACE is based on the Arrhenius model of thermal ageing
