Abstract
Considerable progress has been achieved during the last few years in protection against electric shock. IEC-Standard 364 mentions two barriers against electric shock that is protection against electric shock in normal service (basic protection, protection against direct contact) and protection against electric shock in case of fault (fault protection, protection against indirect contact). The author examines fault discrimination and nuisance tripping of residual current protective devices for use in domestic and similar applications
