Abstract :
The IEE Wiring Regulations specify the requirements necessary for safe installation and recent Health and Safety legislation has made factory owners and installation designers more aware of their responsibilities. The June 1987 amendments of the Regulations has focussed attention on the question of discrimination and co-ordination in electrical installations. With the significant improvements achieved in the standardisation of HRC fuses, and the emergence of compact and competitive fusegear, the author reviews the role of the HRC fuse in existing and future low voltage electrical installations
