Abstract
Numerical simulations take the form of numerical models and provide a bridge between the physical world and the computer where they attempt to approximate the actual physical mechanics of the problem. The authors describe some of the research directions that have been motivated by the addition of pipelining and parallelism in the architectures of certain scientific computers
