Abstract :
Because of current strong globalization trend, manufacturers and planners are more willing to cooperate in many aspects such as purchasing, production, planning and so on. Accordingly, capacity planning of supply chain should also be done in order to maximize the overall interests of supply chain. Capacity planning in supply chain is different from traditional capacity planning which confined single enterprise. Firstly, the integration necessity of capacity planning in supply chain is discussed. Secondly, the types of capacity planning are presented and method of capacity computation for each type of planning is also studied. Thirdly, the framework for integrated planning system is given and its function model is described with the modeling tool of IDEF0. Finally, a case is presented to show the validation of this study.
