Abstract :
To revive the lack of spectral resources due to the expansion of service requirements and implementation of flexible service transmission, next generation digital television broadcasting system should define frame structures to support efficient and compatible multi-service transmission for different applications, especially terrestrial high definition television (HDTV) and mobile TV services. The approach to support compatible OFDM symbols with different sub-carrier intervals and improve the spectral efficiency is discussed. In this paper, two novel TDS-OFDM composite frame structures are proposed with the concept of physical sub-channel (PSC) to support services with different quality of service (QoS) requirements. Simulation results show that the proposed frame structures can provide multi-service transmission with diverse requirements and high spectral efficiency as well.
