Abstract :
Network Address Translation (NAT) technology is popularly applied to solve the depletion of IPv4 address. In general, it is an obstacle for the devices to communicate with the devices behind NAT directly based on the TCP/IP protocol. In this paper, we proposed a low cost transparent NAT traversal (LCTNT) method to present hole-punch technique for NAT by using exiting architecture without any modification. Our proposed method has the advantages of efficient IP address translation mechanism that is compatible with all existing application programs and TCP/IP protocol. Several experiments have been conducted to demonstrate the performance of our work.
