Abstract :
A selection of results are presented showing the ability of a protective algorithm to discriminate between internal and external power system faults. Particular emphasis is placed on complications created by the presence of modes of propagation in multiconductor systems such as double circuit lines. Some results of the effects of harmonics and noise are also presented
