Abstract
A new method is described for the protection of HV switchyards which is based on the measurement of the magnetic field at a safe working distance from high voltage conductors. The theoretical framework for this method, called the `REMMIT´ (REmote Magnetic field Monitoring Instrument Transformer) system, is detailed and summarized. The authors outline the theoretical basis for the model and discuss experimental development to date
