Abstract :
The authors briefly discuss the reasons for testing power system protection relays and then describe the RP86 test system. The system is based on a personal computer. The amplifiers and control units are described and the three modes of operation, menu operated, program operated and graphic modes, are explained. The equipment provides economic testing combined with high precision of measured values
