Abstract :
In accordance with federal laws, all engineering educational programs in Argentina must be approved by the National Commission on University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU), as a pre-requisite for engineering graduates registration before professional boards. Biomedical engineering has not been listed by the government as an independent engineering discipline, preventing BME graduates registration as professional engineers in their field of expertise. To overcome this situation, the Northeastern National University UNNE developed an undergraduate BME option, which includes specific elective courses for electronics engineering students, allowing them a professional practice after graduation.
