Abstract :
This paper presents a software implementation of the UCCH mobility signalling, based on distributed object technology. The system is based on the CORBA-compliant OrbixWeb (Fettweis et al, 1997) and the network nodes are defined as objects. The aim of this experimental setup has been to implement the UCCH signalling backbone, and the software-download signalling protocol. The UCCH implementation includes location management and software download. This paper focuses on the use of this software radio support architecture, and presents initial results about the capability and performance of signalling sequences using an underlying ORB. Signalling sequences to enable software downloading are also presented
